Our visit to Sinai Academy

Last week we visited the the Sinai Academy in Bloubergrant.

The class went to a synagogue. The boys and the girls had to be separated when we had to sit down. When we sat down we met the Rabbi and showed us their bible their bibles name is called  a Torah. The boys had to were the this hat on their head  called the kippah. When the rabbi showed us a Ram’s horn he blew through it.

We had Shabbat with the Jewish children. We ate challah bread and drank grape juice. One of the children lit up a candle. One of the children read from a piece of paper and prayed in Hebrew which is their language, and then they translated in English for us.Yom Kippur is also one of their holy celebrations.

I enjoyed the morning.I respect their religion and what they celebrate. It was a very nice school to take a visit at.
